Le Gabon a r\u00e9cemment conclu un partenariat strat\u00e9gique avec la China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) pour la construction d\u2019un chemin de fer \u00e9lectrique reliant les principaux gisements de fer de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du pays aux c\u00f4tes atlantiques. Dans le cadre de ce partenariat avec la CRBC, le Gabon pr\u00e9voit notamment la construction du port en eau profonde de Mayumba, dans la province de la Nyanga. Un projet dans le pipeline depuis une d\u00e9cennie. Cette infrastructure portuaire, d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 potentielle de 250000 tonnes, surpassera de loin le port d\u2019Owendo (67000 tonnes) et servira de terminal d\u2019exportation pour le fer, le mangan\u00e8se et potentiellement d&rsquo;autres minerais strat\u00e9giques.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Le site de Mayumba a \u00e9t\u00e9 choisi pour sa situation g\u00e9ographique avantageuse, en bordure de l\u2019Atlantique Sud et \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 des gisements de fer de l\u2019Est et du Sud-Est. Ce port servira non seulement les int\u00e9r\u00eats gabonais, mais pourrait aussi devenir une plateforme r\u00e9gionale pour les pays voisins comme le Congo ou la Centrafrique, d\u00e9sireux d\u2019exporter leurs ressources par une voie s\u00e9curis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La conception du port pr\u00e9voit des \u00e9quipements de derni\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration : grues portuaires automatis\u00e9es, entrep\u00f4ts \u00e0 grande capacit\u00e9, zones de stockage des minerais, et installations conformes aux normes environnementales internationales. Des \u00e9tudes d\u2019impact ont \u00e9t\u00e9 commandit\u00e9es afin de pr\u00e9server la biodiversit\u00e9 marine et d\u2019impliquer les populations locales dans le processus de d\u00e9veloppement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet cr\u00e9era des opportunit\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques majeures pour la r\u00e9gion de la Nyanga, souvent marginalis\u00e9e. Les autorit\u00e9s locales esp\u00e8rent que l\u2019activit\u00e9 portuaire induira des investissements priv\u00e9s dans les services, la restauration, la logistique et le transport. En parall\u00e8le, le gouvernement pr\u00e9voit la modernisation des routes secondaires autour de Mayumba pour soutenir l\u2019afflux logistique. Avec ce port, le Gabon pourrait renforcer sa strat\u00e9gie de sortie de la d\u00e9pendance p\u00e9troli\u00e8re en valorisant ses ressources mini\u00e8res et sa position g\u00e9ostrat\u00e9gique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais cette ambition pourra-t-elle se concr\u00e9tiser sans une gouvernance rigoureuse, des d\u00e9lais respect\u00e9s et une r\u00e9elle implication des communaut\u00e9s locales ? Le pays a-t-il les capacit\u00e9s institutionnelles pour faire de Mayumba un hub logistique r\u00e9gional durable ? \u00c0 l\u2019heure o\u00f9 la concurrence s\u2019intensifie en Afrique centrale, le pari gabonais pourrait r\u00e9ussir certes, mais \u00e0 condition de transformer cette vision en r\u00e9alisations concr\u00e8tes et inclusives.
